Submarine film clip analysis.
Actor - Oliver.
Purpose
- to show a montage of relief within the phase of flashbacks
- creates a background with sonic wallpaper usage
- helps the narrative of Olivers voice flow
- reveals clues about Oliver himself.
The purpose if to show us that Oliver is the main person within and it helps us see the use of sound to create a fully relaxed setting which comes across to use via the relaxed music in the flashbacks of thoughts that he has and creates a large emphasis among them.
Elements
- tempo - andante' (walking pace)
- volume - is a general medium throughout
- genre - classical
- instrumentation - strings
- tone - relaxed
The elements of music within the clips show using the Orchestral theme help us to realise what a relaxed process of narrative thats being told to us, and this helps set the scene by using a mythical but steady pace of tone in minor keys.
The music has a strong busy tone to it thats gives a phase the memories are never resting into a set in the melody we hear. It also helps reflect on the process of his thoughts and helps us to see that his character is mildly dreaming 99% of the time we see him and is pushed into the relaxed sense we hear.
Meaning
- shows what he's doing compared to others
- shows the meaning of someone who cannot find who they are
- the thought process in which fits the music to the story Oliver's telling
- sincere to how he sees the world through his own eyes
- the idea of subjective and consistent even when classifying comical memories
