Date: 30th January
Present: Charlotte (me) & Dana Holloway.
Reason: Plans for final.
Time: 15.00pm
Problems:
- We need to redo the audio due to the background noise given over the top and also people didn't know the script very well so this needs improving amongst the script.
- We realised that we have missed some shots, fair few missing.
- Haven't figured out the fall back effect fully or rotoscoping.
What we need to do:
- Film the scenes that are missing to catch up with further work needed.
- Record audio using the separate microphone to avoid background noise.
- Find better tutorials for the fall back scene or somehow get them to do it fully if this is okay amongst health and safety issues.
- Organise when we can film and record the audio with fellow actors.
We only can film Wednesdays and Thursdays as that's when we and both actors are free. We have spoken about the fall back and are going to ask the actor (Adam) if he is willing to do it and figure out how to make it safe to do.

P1: Rough Cut - Feedback & Appraisal

List the strengths and weakness for the dialogue, sound FXs and the music.
- dialogue was not able to be heard over the music and sound extras that i added
- strong background noise
- dialogue missing
- sound FX at the start gives a good opening
- ^ creates a good deep effect of suspicion

What aspects do you intend to improve and how?
The aspects of which i want to improve would be near enough everything to do with the sound due to the fact that we filmed the rough cut in short notice of getting actors.
What i would do if i had to do this again i would use a separate microphone to gain the dialogue and the background noise should be looked at to see if it can be lowered in db to create less noise in the footage itself. And to change the depth of the backing music.

Special Effects
List the strengths and weakness for effects in terms of technical quality, authenticity and how they fit into the narrative.- poorly created and rushed time for the VFX of lightning.
- quality key was average
- technicality was good for the usage of adjustment layers and presets to create the clip of the lightning with the keyframes along side.
- the strength is that it fits into the scene
-weakness is that you dont know the story to why theres lightning.
What aspects do you intend to improve and how?
I intend to improve the aspects of the VFXS by taking time time i have on my own to practice at home in my free time, so that when it comes to doing the final editing in a few weeks for the full version that im then able to put in all the full effects that i need.
Sequence
List the strengths and weakness for effects in terms set dressing, acting, composition, editing.
- Acting problems, scripts were not known fully this caused mistakes.
- The Jump effect took a lot of stress and hassle and was not thought through in enough detail.
- The dressing was good because it was fairly casual but fitted the characters well.
- Composition was awful, there wasn't much effort put in in my own honest opinion.-Editing was good, but could be improved a lot.
Does the narrative make sense? The narrative is in sequence but personally to myself i dont think that it makes sense on my own terms because from my feedback it made me realise that it wasn't very understandable and didn't fit right in some areas of footage.
Does the action flow?
The action flows throughout the whole clip but some bits were rather jumpy and to fast.

Some parts could come across as comical more then horrific, but honestly no it's not entertaining.
What aspects do you intend to improve and how?
I intend to have a production meeting with my other team members to take into action each others opinions on which we could sort out, because the footage was all over the place and roles need to be taken seriously.

P1. Use of music in film - legal considerations
1) Right of use.
What is the difference between publishing rights and recording rights?
The difference between recording and publishing rights are that with publishing its something thats from the people in which own the copyright label to the certain piece of music, and the lyrics and composition within it. And the version of publishing only exists if the lyrics and words are written down.
With recording the rights it's the people who performed the version of music in which we want to use. An example would be for instance the sound recording copyright within the pianists recording of one of Beethoven's sonatas.

the creative commons is an organisation of which uses many several licences to expand the range of things which can be classed as free to use, things that we can share and use legally. This nowadays is used on a large majority of music because a lot of music is licensed and comes across that we cannot use it due to copyright infringements if we use music in public projects and also we cannot use it because its unusable.
Why does it exist?it exists to counter a very strong structure that restricts us when it comes to using most music. This is because the want to offer an alternative to us as people but depending on the licence certain music can be used by anyone.
Choice of music:
the music in which i chose is one of which i used as the backing track of sound for a project. The reason why i picked this one is because there's a strong mysterious ambience tone with a steady deep beat to it and it gives of thoughts of something thats rather eerie and mysterious to mind.
This music was created by Klankbeeld and as shown on the photo below has a Creative Commons stamp, so therefore the track is licensed and anyone who uses it cannot change it and needs to give credit to them.

P1 Problems during rough cut.
1. The weather has been rather wet so filming has been delayed due to being outside.
2. The availability of everyone being around for filming at the same time due to different time tables.
3. Groups bickering.
The outcomes of this will have to be that filming will have to be done on days that the weathers actually okay if this isn't possible then we will have to make do with this due to the short time schedule we have for next week.
The availability of others in the group has been mildly discussed and talked about to solve being here at the same time.
And well the group bickering will lower over time as the week has been a lot of work and some people have been absent so the filming had been delayed and this made problems.
